Preston, Melbourne hot air balloon emergency: Reports person has fallen from a hot air balloon

A person has fallen out of a hot air balloon in Melbourne’s north-east.

Emergency services were called to Albert Street in Preston just after 7.30am on Monday.

One person is believed to have landed on the street, which has been cordoned off by police.

The hot air balloon is believed to have landed nearby.

Participants in another hot air balloon flight, which has since landed safely in Fawkner Park, told Sunrise they heard a mayday call coming over the radio that someone had fallen from a hot air balloon in Preston.
