Mike Dean has developed quite the reputation for being spotted out and about in unexpected environments, and on Friday fans caught a glimpse of the Premier League referee in a different field.

Dean was spotted playing the role of caddy in Spain during the Estrella Damm Mediterranean Ladies Open. 

The 51-year-old was carrying the bag for Australian golfer Whitney Hillier during the competition, and watched on as his charge sank a wonderful hole-in-one.

Hillier, who was two-under-par prior to the shot, aced her tee shot from the 17th hole with a five iron to sink an incredible shot. 

The experienced referee congratulated Hillier in delight before giving her a hug and pumping his fist in jubilation.

Hillier remains five shots off the lead at the close of play as the field try to catch leader Laura Fuenfstueck. The German is currently ahead with six shots under par. 

Dean will return to his day job on Monday night as the VAR official during Manchester United’s clash with Arsenal in the Premier League.
