To the trial of a teenage cheerleader who was accused of killing her baby and burying her in the backyard, photos of her are shown posing with a huge baby bump on ball two days before she gave birth.
Brooke Skylar Richardson, now 20, is on trial in Lebanon, Ohio, because he allegedly killed her baby in May 2017 and then buried her in her back yard.
Skylar, as she is known, was then 18 and had told no one that she was pregnant, including the teenage father of the baby with whom she had a short relationship. She says that the baby was stillborn and that she delivered her to the toilet in the middle of the night while her parents were sleeping.
However, prosecutors say she killed the baby and then set fire to her little corpse to try to hide that she gave birth.
She was arrested in July after telling a gynecologist that she had had the baby – which she called Annabelle – and buried her in her back yard.
Prosecutors filed their case against her on Monday with a video-recorded confession in which she described how she would take the lighter on the baby's foot.
The Skylar defense team began to present their case on Tuesday.
During her adolescence, the jury was shown several photos by Skylar that demonstrated her drastic fluctuations in weight. They also saw photos of her with Brandon Saylor, her boyfriend in 2017, when she gave birth.

Skylar Richardson is pictured on May 5, two days before she gave birth, with her then boyfriend Brandon Saylor before they went to the ball. She had a full baby lump but no one realized she was pregnant – although doctors had told her she was – because her weight fluctuated so much
Skylar and Brandon are pictured in March 2017, about six weeks before she gave birth, during a spring break. He was not the father of the baby and started dating her when she was already pregnant
Brandon was not the father of the baby; he was Trey Johnson, another teenager with whom Skylar had an affair in the summer of 2016.
In March 2017, Skylar and Brandon were photographed in the ocean during a spring break to Florida.
She was posing in the ocean in a bikini and was almost full by then, but no one suspected she was pregnant.
She did not confirm it until April 26 during a visit to the gynecologist.
In February 2017, the teenager chose a bright red, sparkling prom dress. The jury was shown a photo of how she tried the dress that month and then on prom evening, on May 5, two days before she gave birth.
Her belly was much more pronounced in the second photo.
In the hours after birth, texting & # 39; in Skylar her boyfriend said: & # 39; I'll tell you later, but last night was the worst ever and I didn't sleep until 5.30 but I feel sooooo much better this morning I & # 39; k Be happy. & # 39;

They called her father, Scott, to the gallery and described how shocked he was to hear not only that his daughter had been pregnant, but that she had given birth in secret.
He described the history of his daughter of anorexia and weight fluctuations.
He said that because her weight went up and down so often, she didn't find it strange when she got bigger as a result of the pregnancy.
Richardson said he wished his daughter had been honest with him and his wife about her baby and that they had taken it into the family.
& # 39; We were in shock. We did not know she was pregnant, we had struggled with an eating disorder …
& # 39; We would have included (the baby) in the family. I think we would have been in shock and probably would have been angry, but … & he said.
At the end of his testimony, Scott suppressed tears when he told the jury: & # 39; She would never hurt another living creature, let alone a baby. & # 39;
He also said that he never knew that his wife, Kim, had encouraged her to lose weight and that the biggest regret of his life was no lawyer when Skylar made the & # 39; confession & # 39; She explained that she had set fire to the baby, a claim he says and the defense was a lie and was forced.
Kim did not testify on Tuesday.
Her husband said that she was summoned by the prosecutor and therefore not allowed to sit in court, but went to court every day.
As part of their defense, Skylar's lawyers showed photos of how her weight fluctuated before she became pregnant (above) within the six-month period. She had suffered from anorexia years ago, her family says, and was under pressure from her mother to stay slim

Skylar's father Scott (pictured who arrived at court with her on September 6) testified that she & # 39; would never hurt another & # 39 ;. Her abandoned mother Kim did not testify. Cameras did not show him while he was standing in the stands at his request and has been the case with most witnesses to the trial

These are the tiny bones of a teenager's baby that was buried in the backyard of her family in May 2017 after being secretly delivered home in the middle of the night
Brooke Skylar Richardson is shown in court in Ohio on Wednesday. She is on trial for murder and manslaughter for having a baby and then buried her in her backyard in May 2017. The teenager took this selfie hours after birth after going to the gym
They also showed texts between Skylar and her mother before the baby was born about her weight loss.
Doctors sent Skylar's mother an email and said she was pregnant, but she insisted it was a mistake.
& # 39; I meant that I thought it was probably just a mistake that scared me. Have a nice day mommy im (sic) sorry if you (sic) r (sic) are stressed now, but i would not get smaller (sic) if i was (sic) and i (sic) would not (sic) at the birth are control i (sic) love u (sic) plz (sic) don't be angry (sic) at me or sad it was just an accident, let's (sic) have a good day, the promweek.
Mom: I can't tell you how my heart stopped because I care too much and want me to have a future (sic). That eliminates all that. I'll just adjust a (couple of) hours to adjust whew whew. & # 39;
Ten days after the delivery, her mother sent a text message to Skylar and told her that she had lost 20 pounds.
She said she had announced it in one of her classes and that everyone was clapping.
& # 39; I could cry, you (sic) are (literally) my hero, & # 39; said the mother.
Trey, the baby's father, told the police that he and Skylar did & # 39; & # 39; things for & # 39; about a week in July and August in 2016, but then suddenly blocked him on social media.
A doctor who is an expert in stillbirths also testified.
He said that from all that Skylar had described and by putting together a timeline of her pregnancy, he believed her when she said the baby was born dead.
