With a black and gold dining room, leopard-themed wallpaper and high ceilings adorned with sparkling chandeliers, Amanda created a party-friendly space and has already christened the room with her co-stars Alan Carr and Ashley Roberts.

She has taken inspiration from RuPaul for her newly renovated hallway, recreating the drag queen’s black and white diamond-print floor and peach walls, which she has decorated with photos of her family and friends.

Amanda told MailOnline: ‘This is my dream home. My whole life I have wanted my dream house, and you know you take one step forward and now I finally have it.

“I definitely feel comfortable… I’m obsessed with interior design and I told my husband, ‘Don’t worry, this is the house for life and it will take me a couple of years to finish,’ but I think the whole thing House will be finished in June and we just moved in November, so I’m already looking for another project… it’s going to be crazy!

“It was the perfect house, and most people probably would have moved in and kept it the same, but it was a very pale, white and gray house and that’s not the case anymore.”

‘I’m going to turn it into the Beverly Hills Hotel, that’s my goal. I’ve just planted two palm trees in the garden and that makes me feel very happy.’

Amanda said: ‘We moved in November, just before Christmas. It was the worst possible time to buy and sell a house, which sucks and there’s stamp duty and you’re wondering, ‘What am I doing?’ But in the end it was worth it.”

‘I also recently ripped up the floor in our hallway, we had a perfectly decent hallway, but they replaced the entire floor…

‘I love RuPaul so much, if you Google RuPaul’s entrance hall, I’ve done it exactly like this, I have peach walls. I’ve opted for black and white floors with a diamond print.’

‘Simon feels more like family than ever. He is very comfortable and charming… Our children are very close, Holly and Eric are two mischievous elves who constantly see each other on the weekends and get up to no good on set, as is Alesha Dixon’s daughter.’

Despite their link, Amanda says she doesn’t “expect” to be recruited on Britain’s Got Talent every year, especially after Simon replaced David Walliams with Bruno Tonioli, recruiting the Strictly judge over the potential hiring of Alan Carr.
