Charlotte Dawson has detailed how she is learning to forgive her fiancé Matthew Sarsfield’s sexting scandal, likening the task to a “grieving process”.
The reality TV star, 32, revealed in August that she and Matt, 33, were expecting their “surprise” third child, just weeks after it emerged he had been sexting another woman.
Charlotte has since reconciled with her partner and said Matt is banned from using social media as she admitted it is taking her “a long time to rebuild trust” with him.
And in an exclusive interview with MailOnline, Charlotte opened up about their relationship, claiming the couple were “taking things slow” and it would have been “easier to walk away” from their eight-year romance.
Talking about how she’s learned to trust her partner again and how long it’s taken, the star shared, “As much as this is public, this is our real life.” This is what has really been happening to us, it is not a show! “It is one of those in which there is a lot of pain, it is like a grieving process.”

Speaking further about her forgiveness process, Charlotte continued: ‘We’re taking it slowly and every day, as it really happens. Obviously we have a baby on the way and we have a family.
‘In fact, I always say it’s much harder to stay with them and actually easier to walk away. Do you know what I mean? So we are happy.
‘Were He is taking it easy and is not on social media at the moment just for obvious reasons. I just think it’s the best thing for us right now.
‘You know how social media is, you end up scrolling for hours so it’s a waste of time and you end up getting into a similar habit, right? So he’s happy, he doesn’t know anything about what’s going on with anyone, so he’s actually pretty nice. It was his decision. He said he just got out of this (social media) and he was going to do it again and then he decided not to do it again.
Charlotte said that if she returned to social media, it wouldn’t be a deal breaker because they are “learning to trust each other,” adding that Matt will return to social media “when the time is right.”
Meanwhile, the former Celebrity Bumps star addressed the backlash she is receiving for posting Matthew on her Instagram, declaring that there is “no way she can win.”
She said: ‘I loved doing my funny videos with him and stuff like that. I keep putting it at the end of my photos all the time. Everyone says: I want to see a picture of you and Matthew, it’s like you can’t win!
‘People are upset because I’m hiding him, which I’m not, he doesn’t want to be in this anyway!’ If I don’t show it to him, he’s like “oh, you’re not going to show it to him,” but if I show it to him, some idiot tells me I’m an idiot! You just can’t win!’

‘We’re taking it slow and just taking each day as it comes. Obviously we have a baby on the way and we have a family. In fact, I always say that it’s much harder to stay with them and in fact easier to walk away from.
Despite the difficult time, Charlotte, who is preparing for a starring role in the Aladdin pantomime this Christmas, is looking forward to starting the New Year with her family.
The TV personality is counting down to baby number three, a girl, with Matthew, and the couple already share sons Noah, three, and Jude, one.
She said we’re just trying to figure things out the best we can and are even planning a Babymoon soon, even though she found it “difficult” to deal with the scandal while she was pregnant.
The beauty is delighted to be expecting a baby girl and is currently torn between the names Penelope and Gigi.
But before the arrival of the latest Dawson-Sarsfield child, there’s a sliver of a pantomime season left to get through, with Charlotte set to hit the boards playing the evil sorceress Abananzar at The Globe theater at Blackpool’s Pleasure Beach Resort.
The star recently started rehearsals and although she said it would be difficult juggling work with her two young children, leaving her feeling “guilty as a mother”, she has Matthew and her mother on hand to support her.
Detailing how she copes with all the things in her life, Charlotte shared: “It’s a bit stressful. I’m thinking ‘Oh my God, how am I going to do this?’ I mean, I’m doing it and I also have sciatica.

“So I struggle with that and obviously I’m going to wear heels all the time. I have Barry and Billy’s damn bunions, they’re burning every day.
Then I thought, “How the hell am I going to do this?” But I know I can do it. I will do it, I will do it and I will have a great time. I’m lucky because it’s close by, you know, so I can literally pick up the kids from daycare when I’m done and take them out, you know, be with them.’
Charlotte continued: ‘I’m trying to do everything I can for the family and all that. There are pros and cons but I think I’m going to have the best time. Yo
‘I love my Panto family, I love being on stage, so it’ll make me feel amazing when I get back there, you know? And I mean, I hope the sets continue to expand!
Looking to the future and leaving the difficult events of 2024 behind, Charlotte concluded: “I can’t wait for 2025. I really just want that happiness, that positivity. I want to get back into television and, you know, have a happy family life.
