Pregnant Ashanti stuns in black shirt dress and lavish fur vest as she joins boyfriend Nelly at Mark Twain Prize for American Humor gala in DC

Ashanti and her boyfriend Nelly were a stylish couple at the 25th Annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor Gala in Washington, DC, on Sunday.

The 43-year-old singer-songwriter, who is reportedly pregnant with her first child with Nelly, 49, according to a report from Us weekly – wore an elegant black and white outfit.

She wore a black button-down shirt dress, a long vest with lush fur panels, and over-the-knee boots.

The Rock Wit U hitmaker accessorized with diamond-encrusted hoop earrings and layered pearl necklaces.

For a pop of color, she wore a bold red lipstick to complete her sultry makeup look.

She showed off her sleek style with her dark locks in a slicked back hairstyle.

For the event, Ashanti coordinated her look with the rapper, who wore a white button-down shirt, a black velvet vest, and sequin pants.

Nelly wore huge diamond earrings and sported silver-rimmed aviator glasses on her long-term on-again, off-again girlfriend.

In December 2023, Us Weekly reported that the couple was “expecting their first child together” after they rekindled their relationship early last year.

This would be Ashanti’s first child and Nelly’s third. He shares his two adult children, Chanelle, 30, and Cornell Haynes III, 25, with his ex Channetta Valentine.

Late last year, Ashanti accompanied Nelly to her 11th black and white dance at the Four Seasons Hotel in her native St. Louis.

During the event, the couple sparked speculation that they were expecting a baby together when Ashanti was seen with her hand on her belly as if she were cradling a baby bump.

In a clip taken by a partygoer, Nelly is seen placing her hand on her stomach after she made the gesture.

After apparently indicating that they were expecting parents, the couple exchanged knowing glances and laughed.

In September, Nelly confirmed they were back together, a decade after they first ended their relationship.

During an interview with Love and Hip Hop stars Rasheeda and Kirk Frost, the Hot In Herre hitmaker insisted their reunion had not been “planned” by either of them.

The couple began dating when they met in 2003.

Ten years later, they dumped him, which Ashanti confirmed and said was due to his alleged “cowardly betrayal.”

After spending ten more years apart, they reconciled in early 2023.
