An Australian dad has come forward to claim a $20 million Powerball prize and revealed what he plans to do with the money.

The Melbourne man had the only division one winning entry nationally in Powerball, drawn last Thursday. The total prize for the first division was $20,809,257.29.

‘I only buy a Powerball ticket once in a while. This has come at a great time for me and my family; It’s a great blessing,” he said.

‘It’s such a big prize. It means I can pay the mortgage and help my family.

“My wife and children have always said that we never go on vacation and I would love to take them to Europe.”

The man’s winning entry was purchased at The Lucky Charm Craigieburn in Melbourne’s north.

Lucky Charm owner Nicole Knothe said the $20 million win marked the largest division one prize sold at her store.

“This is a very exciting and life-changing win for one of our lucky customers,” said Ms. Knothe.
