A lucky Australian is $150 million richer after winning a record Powerball jackpot.
The winning numbers were: 18, 29, 34, 8, 4, 28, 6 and the Powerball was 11.
The winner, from South Australia, matched all the numbers and takes home the huge prize.
They become the country’s biggest lottery winner, surpassing a Sydney nurse who won $107 million in 2019.

If a person correctly chooses all seven numbers plus the Powerball number, they will become the biggest lottery winner in Australian history.
In February this year, Australia’s largest lottery prize of $200 million was split between two people after 9.6 million tickets were sold.
While the game ultimately comes down to the numbers you choose, The Lott has revealed that past winners share major statistical similarities, such as their initials, state of residence, and even star signs.
According to The Lott, Powerball division one winners in 2023 had M, J, S, D or G as the initial of their name almost half of the time, at 46.58 percent.

He also found that there was no success for the ‘Ursulas, Xaviers or Zachs’ of the world, as no 2023 winner carried the initials U, X or Z, the less common name initials.
Men were also overrepresented in The Lott’s winners column, taking home 61.9 percent of division one wins last year.

Meanwhile, people under 60 accounted for more than half of all winners.
As far as zodiac signs go, Libras (those born between September 23 and October 22) were the luckiest lottery participants in 2023, making them the luckiest to participate in the lottery in 2023. up to 12.97 percent of the first division winners.

Perhaps the most frustrating statistic is that since the start of the current edition of the Powerball in mid-April, a total of 29 people have not won the division one prize by having all the other numbers except the Powerball.
Doing so takes them to division two, which still offers a payday but is woefully short of the life-changing multi-millionaires of the main prize.
The second division winners over the past six weeks have collectively pocketed more than $4.35 million in prize money – an average of $150,000 each.
Ten of these second division winners were from New South Wales, eight from Victoria, five from Western Australia and three from Queensland and South Australia.
