Powerball jackpots top $100 million for second time in a month as number of millionaires created by lottery winnings last year revealed
- The jackpot prizes of next week’s draw at $100 million
- The seventh time in 27 years the amount will be offered
The prize money for next week’s Powerball drawing is back at a whopping $100 million, after no one cashed out the $60 million up for grabs in Thursday night’s drawing.
It’s the second time in a month that Thursday night’s game has offered up the multi-million dollar prize pool for players, after a Sydney man bagged the latest lump sum.
The winner from Bankstown, in western Sydney, became Australia’s second-biggest single lottery winner after taking home $100 million on June 22.
Next week’s Powerball could see another winner take home $100 million in prizes
However, since then, there has been no top division winner in the last five Powerball draws.
Draw 1420, taking place next week on Thursday, August 3, will mark the seventh time in the game’s 27-year history that players will have the chance to win $100 million.
“It was just last month that Powerball crowned the nation’s second-largest individual lottery winner,” said The Lott spokesman Matt Hart.
“Powerball has been on a winning streak this year, with nine Powerball division one winning entries in Australia so far in 2023, collectively taking home more than $454 million,” he said.

It is the seventh time in The Lott’s 27-year history that the game will offer $100 million in prizes after a Sydney man won the grand prize last month.
Hart said next week’s drawing is another opportunity for a potential winner to have a chance to change their life.
“We are sure that most Powerball players are already dreaming of what they would do if they joined this exclusive winning club.
‘The vacation of a lifetime, immediate retirement, your perfect home and all your other dreams could be a reality.’
According to The Lott, more than 300 millionaires have been created in the last financial year in the top division draws.
That is equivalent to one person becoming a millionaire every day.
Last night’s Powerball numbers were 19, 14, 18, 22, 16, 4 and 33. Powerball lucky number was 18.
Although there were no winners last night, $38.8 million in prizes were won across divisions two through nine out of a total of 1,909,895 prizes.
