The Power franchise is currently developing a fourth spinoff series, which is intended to be a prequel to the series’ characters Ghost and Tommy – originally played by Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora.
Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson – who has collaborated and starred in the franchise – took to his Instagram page on Wednesday to excitedly share the announcement.
He uploaded an image with a red background as well as ‘Power Origins Coming Soon’ in white letters.
50 Cent also wrote in the caption: ‘You asked, I answered. Young Ghost and Tommy are coming your way. Power Origins is now in development. #PowerUniverse #GUnitFilmandTV @gunitfilmandtv.’
The In Da Club rapper notably starred in Power as the character of Kanan Stark, but is also a co-creator and an executive producer of the series – including its spinoffs.

G-Unit also happens to be the name of his film and TV production company – which is based on the hip-hop group that included 50 Cent, Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks.
The performer launched his own record label called G-Unit Records in 2003, as well as a publishing house, G-Unit Books.
Social media users jumped to the comments section of the rapper’s post to share their excitement over the prequel, with fellow music artist Busta Rhymes adding a number of brand emojis.
One fan wrote: ‘This is all I ever wanted from power’, followed by fire emojis, while another wrote: ‘This is insane, can’t wait.’
With the upcoming spinoff – which will also be produced by Sascha Penn – still in development, the official cast or release date has yet to be revealed.
The president of programming for Starz, Kathryn Busby, said in a statement, as of Deadline: ‘As we approach the 10-year anniversary of Power, it’s incredible to witness the tremendous connection our fans have with the Power universe.’
“We can’t wait to see how Origins will further develop this dynamic franchise while bringing fresh, gripping and expansive storytelling to our audiences.”
And Starz CEO Jeff Hirsh also opened up about developing several new series for the network while at Deutsche Bank’s media conference, according to the outlet.

Power – which was created by Courtney A. Kemp – first aired on Starz back in 2014 and ended after six seasons in February 2020; Omari Hardwick plays Ghost in the series Power
“You look at the (Power) card and say, ‘Okay, if I take one of those characters out and spin one of them out, I can bring it forward to replace the show at half the price.’
‘Now I put a lot of money right on the bottom line. And I really don’t lose anything in terms of acquisition costs and subscriber viewership because we know what those demos want.’
‘And we know how to line them up. And so that’s really the core of getting to that 20% (margin) – turning that slate with new content to drive the business,’ Hirsh continued.

The show became a hit and garnered critical acclaim as well as several awards, such as Outstanding Drama Series at the 50th NAACP Image Awards.
The premise followed, ‘James “Ghost” St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick), a wealthy New York nightclub owner who has it all; to dream big, take into account the city’s elite and live a double life as a drug lord,’ per IMDB synopsis.
Power Book II: Ghost is scheduled to air its fourth season later this year, while Power Book III: Raising Kanan is also currently in production for its fourth season.
