Royal watchers have accused Queen Mary and King Frederick of Denmark of Photoshopping their first official royal portrait weeks after their British counterparts came under fire for posting a “fake” Mother’s Day photo.
The official photograph of the royal couple was released on Friday and showed the Australian-born queen alongside the king.
Queen Mary wore a deep green velvet and lace dress along with the crown’s “most complete” set of heirloom jewels with matching emeralds.
Many praised the “beauty” of the photo, but also questioned whether it had been manipulated, with some claiming that the couple “obviously” took their individual portraits and retouched them together.
“Beautiful photo, but another digitally enhanced real photo,” one woman commented on the image, receiving multiple likes.
King Frederick and Queen Mary of Denmark stood side by side looking forward to form a united front for their final royal portrait.
‘Was this photoshopped? I mean, it looks like they were photographed separately and then together? “Mary looks exquisite and Federico, well, the king looks like he just got out of bed,” one woman wrote.

Others pointed out the placement of Queen Mary’s hand in front of King Frederick’s, claiming it seems out of place.
‘It looks like Queen Mary has appeared in Fred’s photo. Her hand position is identical,” said one fan.
The palace has confirmed that the image is real and states that “the official gala portrait of the Royal Family has not been manipulated.”
Many claimed that any photo shoot would make sense given the recent affair rumors that circulated after the then-prince was seen hanging out with his friend and socialite Genoveva Casanova in Spain last year.
‘It has so much tension! And if they’re in the room together, it looks like a setup,” said another.
“Why did he cheat? I’m so mad at him,” said another.
‘Oh, she looks beautiful, but so tense! Something’s not right,’ assumed another.
Queen Mary of Denmark donned the Danish palace’s emerald ensemble for the first time in her first royal portrait as queen consort. The outfit is only worn by the queen.
Others continued to talk about the couple’s supposed indifference without commenting on whether the photo could have been fabricated.
‘That’s a cold looking Mary. I don’t think he’d be all that excited about having to be so close to Freddy!’
The palace told the Daily Mail that they do not comment on rumors when asked about the alleged affair.
It is not the first time that royal observers have questioned a photograph published by the Danish palace.
On January 8, they presented a photograph of Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine on the occasion of their 13th birthday.
But family fans claimed the children were posing exactly as they had in a group photo that appeared to be taken on the same day.
