Speaking with former Sunrise co-hosts Samantha Armytage and David Koch, Templeton recalled the special moment for the little boy.

“I’m very happy to say that everything went exactly as we all expected. John Cena was just fantastic and Bryce had the time of his life,” he said during their live crossover.

“It was a real privilege for us to be there and be a small part of it,” Templeton added, before thanking John and the organisers.

Before joining Seven, he was a sports reporter at Ten News Melbourne.
