Porsha Williams ‘files for divorce’ from Simon Guobadia after 15 months of marriage… and just days after announcing her return to RHOA

Porsha Williams has broken up with her husband of 15 months.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta, 42, filed for divorce from Simon Guobadia, 59, on Thursday after their fairytale wedding in November 2022, according to court documents obtained by People.

The news comes amid accusations of fraud and possible deportation of Simon, a Nigerian businessman who has lived in the United States for more than 40 years.

A source informed the outlet that the split decision, currently classified as an “ongoing matter,” is not related to the recent allegations involving Simon’s past.

The divorce filing also comes a few days after Porsha announced her return to RHOA, where she met Simon, after a three-year hiatus.

Simon made his debut on RHOA at the end of season 13, introduced as Falynn Pina’s husband.

However, the couple went their separate ways after filming wrapped.

On May 10, 2021, Porsha revealed that she was engaged to Simon after a month of dating even though he was her RHOA co-star’s ex.

“Yes, we are madly in love,” she captioned a selfie with Guobadia.

‘I know it’s fast, but we live life every day to the fullest. I choose happiness every morning and every night.’

Simon later confirmed the engagement on his own social media, gushing, “I asked him to marry me because we ticked ALL of each other’s boxes, and then some.”

Earlier this month, Porsha revealed that she’s returning to RHOA with a fun video.

‘Who said that? Is Porsha Williams returning to Real Housewives of Atlanta? That’s false… but Porsha Guobadia is in the building. See you!’ she said in the clip.

Bravo also revealed that it signed an overall scripted talent deal with Bravo’s parent company, NBCUniversal Entertainment.

On September 30, 2021, Porsha declared her departure from RHOA after a decade on the show.

Her initial introduction was in season 5 when she was married to and subsequently divorced from NFL player Kordell Stewart.

She was a main cast member for seasons 5 and 6, and a “friend” of the show during season 7, before returning to the main cast for season 8.

He would remain part of the main cast until season 13, although he announced at the end of the season in 2021 that he would be leaving the show.

Porsha returned to reality TV last year by headlining the spin-off “Porsha Family Matters” in 2021.

Additionally, she appeared on season 3 of Real Housewives Ultimate Girl Trip as a last-minute replacement for Tinsley Mortimer.

Porsha shares daughter Pilar, four, with ex Dennis McKinley, while Guobadia is father to Quentin, Nicole, Christian, Benjamin and Ximena from previous marriages.
