A popular pantry food sold in Woolworths stores across the country has been pulled from shelves over fears it contains a hidden allergen.

Indya Foods’ Ashoka Palak Paneer 280g was urgently recalled from the market on Saturday because its packaging did not declare the presence of cashews in the listed ingredients.

Products with an expiration date of June 15, 2025 are included in the recall.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand urged Woolworths shoppers who have a cashew allergy to check their products.

“Consumers who have a cashew allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if they consume the product,” Food Standards said.

‘Consumers who have an allergy or intolerance to cashew should not consume this product. Any consumer concerned about their health should consult a doctor.’

Consumers are urged to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
