Australia’s high interest and inflation costs have claimed another victim with the closure of a popular beauty clinic loved by celebrities such as TV presenter Georgia Love.

After nine years in business on Melbourne’s Greville Street, brow, skin and makeup expert Victoria Jade closed her doors on Monday.

But the good news is that Mrs Jade will continue to trade elsewhere. “It’s just a downsizing, basically a sort of restructuring and rebranding,” he told Daily Mail Australia.

‘It has been a very tough year for small businesses. And with all the overhead and rent and salary expenses, it’s no longer feasible for my business.

“I was in a position where I was working to pay everyone but myself,” she said.

Ms Jade said that although she still has a very loyal following, business has slowed down in the last 12 months.

‘It is quite common in many industries. Yes“I decided to scale back and as a single mom, it was time to set my priorities,” she said.

“I think one of the biggest causes of death has been the cost of living (which led to) a drop in clientele and spending.’

It also found that people sought beauty treatments less frequently than before.

‘Even if people did it, they could stretch it out and do it every two or three months instead of every month.

Or wait until they go on vacation or something. People have other priorities and some people stop spending in certain areas.’

Mrs. Jade knew what that was because she had also cut back on her own expenses.

“I stopped spending on eating out and buying clothes, but some people stop spending on beauty.”

However, she was encouraged by the outpouring of supportive messages she left on her Instagram page when she announced the closure.

“I started this business alone in a small room and it’s probably been one of the hardest decisions of my life, but it’s one of those things where you just have to prioritize yourself and come up with what’s important.” she said.

Ms Jade’s next step is to rent space to a friend who has opened her own salon.

“I’m just going to go back to renting a little chair and working there and taking care of all my old regulars and original customers that I’ve seen for years and years.”

Those clients include celebrities such as Ms Love, former international swimmer Giaan Rooney and former Australian Rules player Abbey Holmes.

‘It’s a bit of a soft launch at the moment. “Anyway, that’s where I’ll be until the end of the year,” said Mrs. Jade.

On social media, he told his customers that their “loyalty has meant so much to us beyond what you might believe.”

The good vibes went both ways, with one commenter saying they had ‘so much love for you and all your girls, so many memories!’

“I loved watching you evolve from the small beauty salon to taking up the entire space.”

Another wrote: “You should be very proud of everything you have achieved.” Excited for you and your next chapter.’

A third said it had been “an incredible nine years and still many years ahead of you”.
