An urgent recall has been issued on a popular pram over fears it could seriously harm babies and young children.
The recall includes the Silver Cross Reef all-terrain infant and toddler strollers Earth, Neptune and Orbit models.
A spokesperson for the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission warned that the locking mechanism on one side of the stroller may not work properly.
“If the locking mechanism is not activated correctly, the stability of the stroller handle will be reduced,” the spokesperson said.
“If the locking mechanism becomes completely loose while in use, the stroller could collapse.”
The strollers were sold between July 1, 2022 and October 31, 2023 in stores across Australia and online.
The spokesman said defects had occurred and there was a risk it could cause serious injury to babies or young children if the stroller collapsed while in use.
“Stop using the stroller immediately and check the serial number to see if it is being recalled,” the spokesperson said.
The ACCC has warned that if the locking mechanism is not engaged correctly, the stability of the stroller handle will be reduced and, if released, it could collapse (pictured).
