A popular Married At First Sight bride brought production to a halt after she was forced to take a break from filming due to a medical procedure.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal Lauren Dunn will miss this week’s dinner parties and commitment ceremony after flying home to Perth for emergency surgery.

The sudden departure of Lauren, 32, sent shockwaves through the production team and forced them to halt filming for several days.

‘I actually woke up the weekend before and my arm was like all purple, really swollen… I had to fly back to Perth to have keyhole surgery to remove the blood clot and missed a week of filming,’ Lauren explained.

She said she found comfort in the support of her partner Jonathan McCullough, who joined her in Perth for Home Stays during her recovery.

“Jono flew to Perth the following days which was amazing… I was so happy to have him in Perth and he’s going to live in my house and get to know me and my environment a bit better,” she revealed.

Lauren’s absence posed a significant challenge to the show’s producers as she is one of the most popular contestants on the show.

“There was no show without her,” a source stressed. ‘Everything was kind of on hold until she came back.’

Revealing the severity of her condition, she revealed: 'I actually woke up the weekend before and my arm was like all purple, really swollen... I had to fly back to Perth so I could have keyhole surgery to remove the blood clot and missed a week of filming'

Producers were left to find alternative plans, ultimately opting to film “filler episodes” with the other couples while Lauren recovered.

Despite her absence, Lauren remained invested in the show’s progress, even offering Jonathan guidance for the upcoming dinner party.

‘I fully trained him to walk into that dinner party by himself… I’m like, ‘okay, this is what you have to do,’” she shared.
