A children’s drawing tablet sold at Coles has been urgently recalled over fears the product could cause choking and other serious injuries.
The Vtronix 10-inch digital drawing tablet available in pink and blue was sold in supermarkets from December 30, 2024 to January 10, 2025.
The digital tablet, which comes with a stylus, is used to make drawings.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission warned that the toy may not meet product safety standards and issued an urgent recall notice.
The notice advises customers that the tablets contain button batteries and coins that may not be properly secured and could be accessed by children.
‘There is a risk of suffocation, serious internal burn injury or death to young children if they access button/coin batteries and swallow them or place them inside their body. Serious or fatal injuries can occur in two hours or less,’ he said.
Australians should stop using the toy immediately and keep it away from children.
Buyers can return the product to the store where the item was purchased for a full refund.
