Shock like a long-running and popular Bunnings store reveals that it suddenly CLOSES after more than 20 years
- One of the oldest Bunnings Warehouse stores will close its doors this year
- The Whitfords Bunnings north of Perth will close before the rental period ends
- It is hoped that nearby stores will provide services to customers of the old store
Bunnings Warehouse has announced the closure of a long-term store.
The Whitfords Warehouse store, north of Perth, will close its doors on August 30, after it first opened over 20 years ago.
“The Whitfords Warehouse is one of our older stores and we have made the decision to serve customers from our surrounding stores, rather than committing to a further lease term,” said Hayley Coulson, Regional Operations Manager at Bunnings.

Ms. Coulson said that no staff in the Whitfords store would lose their jobs as a result of the closure and will instead be moved to nearby stores.
“Our focus is on working with them and supporting them during this transition.
“The Bunnings Whitfords team has done fantastic work for local customers and the local community for over 20 years.”
City Councilor Joondalup, John Raftis, said that despite the closure, it would make some customers difficult. ‘
Hopefully, all staff will be able to switch to jobs at the other nearby Bunnings stores, “he said.
“For customers, the trip to the hardware store is getting a little longer.”
The surrounding stores in Joondalup, Wangara, Balcatta and Innaloo will continue to operate normally.
“This decision doesn’t change Bunnings’ continued commitment to WA or store opening plans,” Bunnings said.
“With new and improved replacement stores planned for Albany, Midland and Maddington, as well as a new smaller store in Northam.”
Hayley Coulson, Regional Operations Manager at Bunnings, said all Whitfords store staff would be moved to other locations
