Police student charged over alleged domestic violence incident in Asquith, Sydney

A police student will no longer be able to join the force after he slammed a door in a woman’s hand.

Officers were called to a home in Asquith, in Sydney’s north, at around 6pm on Friday to reports of an alleged domestic violence incident.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged with common assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He allegedly prevented a woman from leaving the house before slamming his hand on her door.

He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear before Hornsby Local Court on September 3.

New South Wales Police said their offer to train with the force has been revoked.
