A group of terrified teenagers have been rescued after an encounter with a “glow-eyed, glowing Bigfoot” in a Louisiana forest.
Natchitoches Parish sheriff’s deputies said the recent Houma High School graduates called in distress while deep in the Kisatchie National Forest late last week.
The teens, ages 17 and 18, recounted a chilling encounter with what the group described as a ‘Bigfoot’-like creature with glowing eyes, according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office (NPSO).
The group had reportedly ventured about 1.5 miles up the Back Bone Trail in southern Natchitoches Parish to camp after their graduation festivities.
One of the teenagers, who panicked after hearing a growl and seeing a mysterious figure about 1.5 metres tall with glowing eyes, called emergency services to request rescue.
Natchitoches Parish sheriff’s deputies responded to a group of recent high school graduates who called out in distress while deep in the Kisatchie National Forest last Friday night.
The teens, ages 17 and 18, recounted a chilling encounter with what the group described as a ‘Bigfoot’-like creature with glowing eyes, according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office (NPSO).
At approximately 9:20 p.m., deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Operations Bureau responded to reports from the NATCOM 911 Center of a group in the Kisatchie National Forest in need of assistance, according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy B. Remo and Corporal D. Halliburton approached the camp cautiously, alert for any sign of danger.
Hearing the group’s whistle, the officers located them unharmed but visibly shaken.
Upon arriving at the camp, officers escorted the teens safely out of the woods.
Despite a thorough investigation, authorities were unable to corroborate reports of a creature matching the description provided by the group.
The NPSO concluded its statement by congratulating the graduates, thanking them for visiting Natchitoches Parish and the Kisatchie National Forest, and wishing them success in their future endeavors.

Interestingly, this encounter comes after previous reports of Bigfoot activity in the same woods. A Baton Rouge Bigfoot researcher found these “X” shaped sticks on a branch that he says is typical of a marker used by Bigfoot in 2019.

Many social media users expressed skepticism about the encounter, doubting the details the teenagers recounted in the comments.
According to some, the glowing eyes could simply have been the reflection of light from a flashlight, possibly coming from local wildlife such as a black bear or wild pig.
“If they had used a flashlight, the eyes might have glowed. Probably a black bear or maybe a wild boar,” one wrote.
Others praised the teens for their quick decision to seek help rather than attempt to navigate the woods alone while feeling distressed.
“It seems like they were too scared to go out alone and had to ask for help?” another user commented.
Others joked that the group must have taken some substance or drug that caused them to see things that were not there.
“When the mushrooms kick in…” said another.
However, the encounter comes after previous reports of Bigfoot activity in the same forest.

In 2019, deep in the Kisatchie National Forest, two researchers known only as Tex-La and Claude went on a nighttime expedition where they howled four times into the forest at ‘Bigfoot’ and received four howls back.
Tex-La, an experienced Bigfoot researcher from Baton Rouge, explained that his methods involved using audio devices and cameras camouflaged among the trees to capture evidence of Bigfoot’s presence. The TownTalk reported.
Claude also stressed the importance of interpreting subtle signs like twisted tree branches and mysterious markers, which they believe could be indicative of Bigfoot’s presence.
“It is what it is. If you choose to believe, it’s great. If you choose not to believe, that’s great too,” Tex-La told the outlet.
“A lot of people don’t want to come forward because they don’t want to feel intimidated,” she added.
Claude said he was able to obtain photographs of Bigfoot tracks in the area they investigated.
“Nothing remarkable, nothing worth mentioning, but, in my opinion, they were good songs,” he said.
This comes amid a series of reports of ‘Bigfoot’ sightings in several states across the nation.
In October 2023, a multi-state investigation was launched after a convincing “Bigfoot sighting” in Colorado prompted other U.S. states to step up their search efforts.
