Police raid Epstein & # 39; s mansion in Paris while pressure on Prince Andrew increases to help French officers
Jeffrey Epstein, 66, hung himself last month in anticipation of his child trafficking trial
French police have invaded the former Parisian house of Jeffrey Epstein – as the pressure on Prince Andrew increases to help the French investigation.
It follows the Paris prosecutor, Rémy Heitz, and launches an investigation into alleged abuse by Epstein, the late-convicted pedophile financier, on victims from the age of 12.
Agents from the Central Bureau for the Suppression of Violence Against Persons raided the Epstein apartment of £ 7.14m ($ 8.6m) on Avenue Foch, next to the Arc de Triomphe, on Monday and Tuesday.
There was also a simultaneous raid on Karin Models, a bureau run by Jean-Luc Brunel, who is suspected of helping Epstein recruit women.
France Info, the French news channel, reported: & # 39; The searches authorized by the judges started on Monday at 3 p.m. and ended on Tuesday at 4 p.m. on Tuesday in the apartment of the American financier.

& # 39; According to the testimony of Epstein & # 39; s butler in France, who met France Info, the apartment has a customized massage room, visited by a large number of women, some of whom had maintained relationships with the multi-millionaire. & # 39;
Mr. Heiz, the prosecutor, said his investigation would focus on crimes committed by Epstein, 66, who committed suicide in a prison cell in New York in August.
There is considerable evidence that vulnerable girls traveled between France and America and through Epstein and his associates as & # 39; sex slaves & # 39; were treated.
Guests on the Epstein site included his long-term girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, 57, who would also have helped Epstein find victims.
Prince Andrew and Maxwell, the daughter of the late magnate Robert Maxwell, were friends and traveled a lot together.
A & # 39; black book & # 39; stolen by the deceased butler of Epstein also contains the names of countless contacts in the French capital that could possibly be associated with the duke of York.
In response to the French investigation, a source of prosecution said: & # 39; Due to the nature of the investigation, anyone who has useful information can be summoned to testify.
& # 39; They can do this as a witness, without being initially confronted with criminal actions. Prince Andrew would certainly be an obvious person to help with this investigation. He is clearly deeply involved in this case. & # 39;
Epstein was arrested by FBI agents on July 6 after landing in his private jet at Teterboro airport in New Jersey.
Jean-Luc Brunel with Ghislaine Maxwell, the former girlfriend of Epstein, allegedly bought underage girls for the deceased pedophile
American prosecutors had claimed that from 2002 to 2005, Epstein had sexually exploited and abused dozens of underage girls on his property in New York and Florida.
Epstein – who was in jail for 45 years – had a & # 39; non-guilty & # 39; pleaded when he appeared before the judges on 8 July.
Main witness Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who claims she was forced to sleep with Prince Andrew when she was 17, said she was also often sent to France to serve as & # 39; sex slave & # 39; van Epstein when she was still a minor.
Mrs. Roberts Giuffre said that the victims of Epstein also included two 12-year-old girls who came from & # 39; one of his friends & # 39; were sent from France as & # 39; a surprise birthday gift & # 39 ;.
In addition to Mrs. Maxwell, those who allegedly participated in this sex trade include French fashion scout Jean-Luc Brunel.
Both Mrs Maxwell and Mr Brunel have wrongly denied any misconduct, as did Prince Andrew.
Virginia Roberts Giuffre claims that she was first recruited by Maxwell, who is British and French, to work as a masseuse for Epstein at the age of 15.
After a criminal conviction in the US in 2008, Epstein was placed in a register of sex offenders and he was sentenced to 13 months in prison.
Epstein stayed in his Paris apartment for three weeks before his arrest and had often stayed there.
Referring to the time Epstein bragged about the abuse of two 12-year-old girls, Roberts Giuffre said: & # 39; It was a surprise birthday present from one of his friends and they were from France. I have seen them, I have met them.
& # 39; After his meeting, Jeffrey boasted that they were 12-year-olds and had flown in from France because they were really poor there, and their parents needed the money, or whatever, and they were absolutely free to stay and flew away. & # 39;
The girls, possibly from Eastern Europe, would now be around 30 years old.

Ghislaine Maxwell called Mrs. Roberts Giuffre a liar, which prompted Roberts Giuffre to sue Maxwell in 2015.
In a legal statement related to this libel case, Ms. Roberts Giuffre said: & I have often had sexual intercourse with Jean-Luc Brunel when I was 16 to 19 years old.
& # 39; He was another powerful friend of Epstein who had many contacts with young girls around the world.
& # 39; In fact, his only resemblance to Epstein and the only link to their friendship seemed to be that Brunel could have dozens of underage girls and Epstein & # 39; s (and Maxwell & # 39; s) could feed strong hunger for sex with minors & # 39;
The defamation case Virginia Roberts Giuffre, which was brought against Maxwell, was settled extrajudicially in 2017 for an undisclosed amount and therefore never went to court.
