He died in the place.

His son, Detective Felix Kostiuk, rode beside his father when the collision occurred.

A 21-year-old man was arrested after the incident.

The memorial trip was temporarily halted before the participants, including Felix, decided to continue with a "certain mood".

Mr. Kostiuk was a "respected" expert in the field of family violence prevention and had also worked in the CIU and homicide.

During the trip in Cabbage Tree Creek, Victor was hit by a car that turned on the other side of the road, with the policeman almost 40 years old dying on the scene.

Victoria's chief police commissioner, Shane Patton, said Mr. Kostiuk, who had been an official for about 40 years, was a fantastic member of the organization, ABC reported.

Recently, Mr. Kostiuk was appointed head of the Somerville Family Violence Unit.

"He was really happy the other day he was recently appointed to return to the rank of detective sergeant, something he was particularly proud of."

He said the family was "clearly destroyed."

Police have implored road users to look after a "tragic and tragic" 24 hours in the country Victoria, with four people killed in separate incidents on the road.

The causes of accidents are being investigated, and the police investigate factors such as lack of attention, fatigue, alcohol and speed.
