- She appeared in Kingston Crown Court on Monday to be tried.
Sam Kerr’s defense has argued that PC Stephen Lovell has exaggerated his feelings to obtain a criminal position on the line, after the Chelsea striker called him ‘stupid’ and ‘white’.
The 31 -year -old football star is in racially aggravated abuse towards Stephen Lovell PC at the Twickenham station in the early hours of January 30, 2023.
The court heard yesterday how Mrs. Kerr and her fiancee, Kristie Mewis, had taken a taxi home after one night on the night of January 29, but had ended up arguing with the driver during the trip.
Mrs. Kerr had vomited through the window, and told the police the next day that this caused the driver to become aggressive and start driving dangerously, what she did and Mrs. Mewis scared.
The taxi driver called the police who advised him to take the two women to the nearby Twickenham Police Station.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Kerr and Mrs. Mewis feared that they were kidnapped and destroyed the taxi rear window, heard Kingston Crown Court.
Sam Kerr’s lawyers have argued that PC Stephen Lovell had exaggerated their feelings to obtain a criminal office above the line

On Monday, the court was shown images of Mrs. Kerr inside the Twickenham Police Station, where he argued with the police officer before calling him ‘stupid’ and ‘White’
It was after Mrs. Kerr and Mrs. Mewis transmitting the details of her taxi trip to PC Lovell that Mrs. Kerr called the ‘stupid’ and ‘white’ police officer.
PC Lovell provided a witness statement on January 30, 2023, and the CPS initially denied that the evidence of the statement was sufficient to support a position of racially aggravated abuse, and CPS said the result would be limited to an apology.
On November 16, 2023, the CPS wrote to PC Lovell requesting an additional statement, since there had been no evidence of harassment, alarm or anguish caused by the initial statement.
PC Lovell then provided a second statement to the CPS on December 6, 2023, 11 months after the incident, and the CPS authorized six days later to the Police to accuse Mrs. Kerr.
Kerr’s lawyer, Grace Forbes, asked PC Lovell: “The only reason you made that second statement was because the CPS declined authorizing a criminal charge to process Miss Kerr”, which PC Lovell denied.
Mrs. Forbes also asked PC Lovell if Mrs. Kerr was concerned by registering her interaction, due to the awareness of her ‘great followers’, after being known for who was that night for a colleague, according to a colleague.
PC Lovell denied that this was a concern, describing how it was common in their work area for people to register their interactions with him.
Mrs. Forbes also mentioned how Mrs. Kerr was playing in the Women’s World Cup in July 2023 for Australia, who was also organizing the tournament and how PC Lovell would have been seeing images of her, what he denied.

However, PC Lovell denied the statements that Mrs. Kerr’s lawyers (in the photo) had argued, and added that she had been “decided to pursue” Mrs. Kerr
She asked: ‘This person who had made you feel unimportant.
‘That person who made you feel belittled.
‘You were determined to persecute this person’, to which PC Lovell replied: ‘Yes’.
The trial continues.
