Police officer charged with foul language, unjustified use of pepper spray and unlawful assault is in court

A Victorian police officer charged with unlawful assault has been taken to court.

Tristan Zerafa, 34, has been charged with unlawful assault, unjustified pepper spray discharge and foul language in Sunbury, northwest Melbourne, in December 2019.

Zerafa’s case was heard in Broadmeadows Magistrates Court on Thursday, where a reprieve was granted to hear the case in Melbourne.

The Brookfield man will appear in court on May 11.
