A 31-year-old police officer is stabbed in the face
A policeman was stabbed in the face.
The officer was among officers called at around 8.25am on Friday to a house in Anna Bay, near Port Stephens, New South Wales, where they found a man and a woman inside.
The 42-year-old then allegedly stabbed the 31-year-old police officer with a narrow metal instrument.

The officer was taken to John Hunter Hospital with non-life-threatening facial injuries.
The 42-year-old man was arrested and taken to Mater Hospital for evaluation.
After being released from hospital, he was taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station where he was charged with seven offenses including injuring a police officer, assaulting and possessing a drug.
He was refused bail and will appear in Newcastle Local Court on Saturday.
