Police launch urgent kidnapping investigation after witness reports ‘see young teenage girl screaming and trying to escape from back of black Mercedes in north London’

An urgent police investigation has been launched after a teenage girl in north London tried to escape from a car.
Officers were called to Plevna Crescent in Haringey after a member of the public reported seeing a young girl, believed to be between 13 and 15 years old, screaming for help in a black Mercedes at 6:40 PM on Sept.
The girl had tried to escape from the car through an open rear window when she was pulled back into the vehicle, it was reported.

The man who was driving the car was then driving towards St Ann’s Road before turning right onto Frinton Road.
Today, the Metropolitan Police called on anyone with information to come forward.
The girl is described as black, about 13-15 years old, with braided hair and wearing a red tracksuit and a red hoody.
The driver is described as a black man with dreadlocks, police said.
Detective Inspector Lyndsey Billaney, North Area Command Unit, said: ‘We are taking this report very, very seriously and are conducting a number of urgent lines of investigation to try to identify the girl and establish her well-being.
Detectives investigating the possible kidnapping of a teenage girl have called for witnesses
“Anyone with information that may assist us, or who believes they know the girl described and has information on her whereabouts, is urged to call 101 ref CAD 6314/September 18 immediately.
“I also urge residents to check dashcam and doorbell images for possible sightings of a black Mercedes in the area.”
