Pensioners killed in nightmare crash: Police launch investigation as 94-year-old man and 84-year-old woman ‘die while walking after being hit by driver in eighties’

Police have launched an investigation after an elderly man and woman died while walking after being hit by a driver in their eighties.
They died while on Park Lane at the junction of Mayfair in Reading at 10.50am yesterday morning and were hit by the car.
A silver Mercedes A170 was involved in the crash and the driver remained in hospital with serious injuries.

The family of the pensioners who died have been notified, according to Thames Valley Police.
They are supported by specially trained officers.
Police have urged anyone with information to come forward.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Nigel Doyle, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: ‘We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened to come forward.
‘We would also ask anyone with dash cams who were in the area around the time of the collision to check any footage if they may have caught anything that could assist the investigation.
