Police launch murder investigation and arrest two men after 49-year-old woman’s body was found in Slough home – with ‘agents who had previous contact with victim’ referred to complaint watchdog

Police have launched a murder investigation and made two arrests after a woman’s body was discovered in Slough – and a reference to the complaint watchdog was made ‘as a result of previous police contact’.
Officers visited an address in Long Readings Lane around 7.30pm on Sunday and found the body of a 49-year-old woman.
The death was initially treated as unexplained but is now being treated as a murder investigation “following new information,” Thames Valley police said.
Formal identification has not yet taken place.
The police say that because of ‘prior police contact’, a mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC), the complaints watch.

A post-mortem examination by the Ministry of the Interior was conducted today, the results of which are pending further medical advice.
A 35-year-old man and a 49-year-old man, both from Slough, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently in police custody.
Specially trained agents are currently working with the woman’s family and providing support.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Dejan Avramovic, of the Major Crime Unit, said: “First of all, our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died.
“As a result of our ongoing investigation, following the discovery of the woman’s body on Sunday, we have now made the decision to launch a murder investigation.
“I understand this will raise some concern in the local community in Slough, but I want to give an assurance that we are conducting a detailed investigation into two men who have been arrested in connection with this incident.
“We also have a number of officers in the area, so a visible presence will be there as we continue this investigation. If local residents are concerned, please contact our officials and speak to them.
“While we have arrested two men on suspicion of murder, our Major Crime team is open to the exact circumstances leading up to the woman’s death, but can assure the local community that we are leaving no stone unturned to investigate.” exactly what happened.
