Police officers have managed to stop an “ISIS terror plot” ahead of England’s Euro 2024 final in Berlin after completing a series of raids in which three suspects were arrested.
German special forces successfully foiled the attack after it was feared it could take place in the Three Lions’ fan zone at Breitscheidplatz ahead of England’s 2-1 defeat by Spain last Sunday.
Police carried out a series of coordinated raids in nearby Potsdam, searching for five men said to be known IS supporters.
The men, who were already under German police surveillance, had been photographed with phones at Breitscheidplatz and a large church nearby.
A Berlin police spokesman said: The sun on Sunday:The homes of three men at three addresses in Potsdam were searched.

“The measures were taken in relation to an immediate threat from the Islamist spectrum.”
The suspects are believed to have been under surveillance in the days leading up to the final and have since been released under investigation.
In 2016, 12 people were killed and 56 seriously injured after jihadists crashed a truck into a Christmas market in Breitscheidplatz.
The latest revelation comes as Olympic officials have stepped up security ahead of the summer games in Paris, which begin on Friday.
British police officers will be among 45,000 patrolling the streets of the French capital throughout the two-week event.
Last month, ISIS terrorists threatened to attack the city during the games and released a propaganda image showing one of their terrorists flying an armed drone into the Eiffel Tower.
In response, central areas around the Seine, including the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre, are already closed to traffic.
Some 130 people on France’s terrorist watch list have already been prevented from entering the country.
