Police footage has been released of former NFL coach Jack Del Rio's arrest last month.

Former NFL coach Jack Del Rio can be seen screaming in agony and begging a police officer to let him “piss” in shocking footage from his DUI arrest last month.

Del Rio, who spent more than 20 seasons in the NFL as a coach in some capacity, was arrested on Friday, Nov. 8 in Madison, Wisconsin, for driving a vehicle into a street sign and breaking a fence while intoxicated.

In a statement given to DailyMail.com last month, the 61-year-old revealed that he would be stepping down from his position as senior advisor to University of Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell following his arrest.

More than a month after the incident, sports has obtained footage of Del Rio being detained by officers after showing signs of “deterioration” while reportedly reeking of alcohol.

Before being handcuffed and placed in a police car, he can be heard confessing to having drunk “a little bit” before getting behind the wheel, despite initially claiming he had not been driving.

Dashboard camera footage shows him becoming increasingly uncomfortable in the back of the car after telling her he was under arrest for DUI.

On three separate occasions, Del Rio asked police officers if he could relieve himself, even begging them at one point, “Please let us urinate.”

The former Raiders and Jaguars head coach could also be heard screaming in pain as a police officer waited for a warrant for his blood sample after he refused to submit to a breathalyzer.

Finally, an officer asked him about the screams: “Sir, what is going on?”

“It’s just this pain,” Del Río responded.

When they arrived at a nearby medical center to take the blood sample, he was heard moaning that his “damn arm isn’t working” before he was finally helped out of the vehicle.

Del Rio had only joined Wisconsin in the offseason after previously working as the Washington Commanders’ defensive coordinator.

In a statement to ESPN, the school said of his arrest last month: “We take matters like this very seriously and continue to gather information.”

Del Rio then revealed that he was resigning from his position as senior advisor, telling DailyMail.com: “I am grateful to Coach Fickell and the University of Wisconsin for the opportunity to work with such a talented coaching and support staff and some of the best young soccer players in the country,” the statement reads.

In the footage, Del Rio can be heard begging the police to take a piss and refusing a breathalyzer.

“I have decided to step away from my position in the team, so that they can focus all their attention on the rest of the season.”

The former linebacker, who spent 10 years as a player in the NFL, first ventured into coaching as an assistant strength coach with the New Orleans Saints in 1997.

He then served as New Orleans’ linebackers coach before jumping to the Baltimore Ravens in 1999. He stayed there for three seasons, helping them win Super Bowl XXXV before moving on to the Carolina Panthers as their defensive coordinator.

After just one season in Charlotte, Del Rio would become the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, a role he would hold from 2003 to 2011. In that time, he compiled a 68-71 record and made the playoffs twice, losing the first game both times against the New England Patriots.

He was fired from Jacksonville in 2011 after starting the season 3-8.

From there, he moved to the Denver Broncos, becoming their defensive coordinator and helping the team win an AFC title in the 2013 NFL season before they lost to the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLVIII.

He was fired in 2017 after compiling a 6-10 record, leaving his all-time head coaching record at 93-94.

After three years away from football, he joined Ron Rivera’s coaching staff with the then-named Washington Football Team in 2020 as defensive coordinator.

He remained in Washington for two full seasons and part of a third, before being fired in November 2023 after losing to rival Dallas Cowboys 45-10.
