Police sources told the newspaper that Tostee was with a woman and her 12-year-old daughter, who had to call emergency services after her mother threatened to jump out of the building.

Tostee reportedly tried to stop the woman trapped in the hotel bathroom when ambulance personnel and police arrived.

The woman was then taken to hospital for a mental health assessment.

A senior police officer said there was no suggestion that Tostee had done anything wrong.

In February 2019, police were called to Tostee’s home in Carrara after a breakdown.

A woman was taken to hospital for a mental health assessment after claiming she ‘left’ and he was assaulted.

There were no charges for that incident.

Mrs. Wright, a 26-year-old from New Zealand, plunged into her death on August 8, 2014, from Tostee’s 14th-floor Surfer’s Paradise apartment.

Tostee was on trial but was cleared of murder, manslaughter and any wrongdoing after harrowing three-hour audio footage was heard in court in 2016.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Tostee for comment.
