Police arrest man 33 after ‘baby’ is found dead at home in Leicester while detectives investigate ‘unexplained’ death

A man has been arrested after the ‘inexplicable’ death of a child in a quiet village in Leicestershire.
Officers were called by ambulance personnel after the child did not respond at a site in Glenfield around 8 a.m. today.
Leicestershire police said a 33-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.
Police added that the death is currently being treated as unexplained and investigations are still ongoing to determine the full circumstances.

Detective Inspector Henry Henderson added: “This is an extremely sad incident involving the death of a baby on a property.
“Our officers remain in the area to conduct full investigations to establish the full circumstances of this incident.
‘Our research is currently at a very early stage.’
A spokeswoman for the East Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We received a call to a private address in Glenfield on April 8 at 7:42 am.
The caller reported that there was a medical emergency.
“We sent a doctor in a car, two ambulance cars and a manned ambulance to the scene.”
