Detectives investigating the alleged murder of a graduate law outside an apartment resort, investigating whether broken windows could have led to his death.
Police allege that Nicholas Braid, 35, was fatally stabbed in the chest on Tuesday night at around 7:00 PM when he went to talk to a group of people who were staying at the Beachcomber resort in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast.
An alleged member of the group, Freedom Anderson, 20, was charged with one murder on Wednesday after a police investigation.
Investigators are investigating whether an incident involving the ‘intentional damage’ to windows in a house on the Gold Coast could have been behind death, The courier post reported.
Anderson and Mr. Braid are believed to have known each other loosely and fled the scene on foot as the group dispersed after the altercation.
Police believe the weapon, which has not yet been found, was a “sharp weapon like a knife.”

Braid, a former industrial relations counselor, was released on bail last week after a few months’ imprisonment for theft at service stations.
Family and friends pay tribute to Mr. Braid and call him “loyal, generous and smart”.
“Nick was a much-loved and loving son, brother and friend,” said his mother Michelle Braid The courier post.
Despite his struggles, he continued to take care of them and always had compassion for the underdog.
His loyalty and generosity knew no bounds. He was known for his formidable intelligence and passionate eloquence. We are devastated. ‘
He also had law and international degrees of trade.

Detective investigator Chris Ahearn of the Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch has ruled out domestic violence.
“It is certainly not a partner or such a situation; our first indications are that they are loosely known to each other – the group, ”he said.
“We think some people came out of that building on the street.

“We talked to them at night … and interviewed all the residents in that apartment building today. ‘
Witnesses from a nearby block of flats described how she heard a woman scream and a so-called “argument” before Mr. Braid’s body was found on the sidewalk.
During the argument, he was reportedly stabbed into the hull once and collapsed on the sidewalk, before being later pronounced dead at Gold Coast Hospital.
