The attack took place just ten kilometers from the Ocean Club in Praia Da Luz, where Madeleine is believed to have been taken from her bed in the middle of the night.

The German judicial authorities are aware of the ten-year-old’s case, who has not been mentioned by name since last year, through an investigation into sexual offenses from Portugal.
She was playing with other children on a trip to the beach with her parents and family friends when a naked man grabbed her.
He then touched himself while holding her, the girl told Portuguese researchers at the time.
Her father was forced to chase the man away from his daughter.

The shocking allegations came to light after Brueckner gave a rare insight into his life behind bars by drawing a pencil sketch of his cramped prison cell.
The drawing emerged as police continued to investigate his role in the three-year-old’s disappearance in Portugal in 2007.
Brueckner complained that he is suffering from not being able to exercise properly, having been locked up in solitary confinement for his own protection since June – when German police named him the prime suspect in the case.
The 43-year-old’s only daily contact is with prison guards and the inmate serving his meals. His lawyer Freidrich Fulcher is his only visitor.
