The suspected shooter is dead after police responded to an active shooting at a school in Palermo, California.
The Feather River School of Seventh-Day Adventists closed Wednesday afternoon.
“BCSO is on scene for an active incident involving a shooting at the Feather River School of Seventh-Day Adventists in Palermo,” a spokesperson for the Butte County Sheriff’s Office told DailyMail.com in a statement.
“Parents are asked to respond to the church to be reunited with their children. The suspected shooter has died. We will provide additional information as it becomes available.”
The sheriff’s office in neighboring Sutter County said Sacramento Bee this is an ‘isolated incident’ that has been contained.
According to his websiteIn 2022, the religious school had only 33 students, supervised by five teachers.
Students will be taken to Oroville Church of the Nazarene, located at 2238 Monte Vista Avenue, Oroville.
The school advertises itself as providing ‘spiritually oriented education for children’.
