Pokémon voice actress Rachael Lillis, who played the characters Misty and Jessie on the beloved show, has died at the age of 46.

His co-star Veronica Taylor, who voiced the iconic character Ash Ketchum, confirmed that he died after a battle with cancer on Saturday.

“Rachael had an extraordinary talent, a brilliant light that shone through her voice both when she spoke and when she sang,” Taylor said.

‘She will forever be remembered for the many animated roles she played, with her iconic performances as Pokémon’s Misty and Jessie being the most beloved.

“I’m not sure how this dark void will be filled now that your light no longer shines in it.”

The character of Misty sported a short orange ponytail and traveled with Ash while specializing in Water-type Pokémon in the show that launched in 1996.

Jessie is a member of the rival Team Rocket who often followed Ash and his friends around trying to steal their Pikachu.

Her sister, Laurie Orr, said in a GoFundMe update that Lillis’ health began to deteriorate last week.

“This was unexpected and we are completely heartbroken. I am heartbroken to have lost my beloved little sister, but I am comforted to know she is free,” Orr said.

‘She remembered many of you she happily met at conventions, for example, and told us stories about the experience and all the people she appreciated meeting.’
