On March 14, 2023, Rowlet will be in the spotlight and you will receive double XP for evolving Pokémon. And no, Rowlet can’t shine in it pokemon go (yet)!
Since Rowlet is a starter Pokémon, it will likely make its shiny form debut during a Community Day. With the Chespin Community Day in January 2023, we just started Community Days for starters in the Kalos region, which means Alolan starters are likely to be a way out.
That said, if you manage to find a high stat Rowlet, consider holding it for a while before evolving it. By allowing it to evolve into its final form, Decidueye, during its final Community Day, it will likely learn the very powerful move Frenzy Plant, which is well worth having.
Pokémon is about catching them all and getting in pokemon go, that means catching every variant, including rare shiny versions of Pokémon. In every Tuesday pokemon go, players will see a specific Pokémon spawn more often during Spotlight Hour, which runs from 6:00 PM to 6:59 PM local time. Spotlight Hour is your chance to load candies, a chance for high CP Pokémon and, if you’re lucky, a Shiny Pokémon.
Do shiny rates increase during Spotlight Hour?
Shiny rates don’t seem to increase during Spotlight Hours, based on data collected by the Pokémon community Silph Road. However, the sheer number of Pokémon that spawn during the hour-long weekly event gives you a higher chance of clicking a random shiny. The more Pokémon you click, the more chance you have of catching a Shiny Pokémon.
What can I do to attract more Shiny Pokémon?
Not much, unfortunately. It seems to be a coincidence. Shiny Pokémon catch rates are determined by developer Niantic and usually only increase during special events like Community Days or Safari Zones, or in Legendary Raids. There are no consumables that increase the speed of Shiny Pokémon.
Where can I find a list of available Shiny Pokémon?
Leek Duck preserves a list of currently available Shiny Pokémon. It’s a handy visual guide that illustrates what all existing Shiny Pokémon look like.
