Ditto is an elusive Pokémon in pokemon gobecause it disguises itself and you can’t actually just grab one.
To find Ditto, you’ll want to find the Pokémon it’s currently disguising as. For example, you can see a Diglett, and it will remain a Diglett when you tap it, but it’s secretly a Ditto. Once you catch that Pokémon, you’ll get an “Oh?” prompt, and it will turn into a Ditto – if you’re lucky.
Ditto’s chosen disguises change from time to time, so make sure you know what the disguises are at the moment if you’re hunting Ditto, especially if you’re looking for a shiny one.
Below we list the current Ditto disguises.

How to find shiny Ditto in Pokémon Go
There are a few things you need to know about Ditto and Shiny Hunting. For a, if you encounter a Shiny Pokémon that could be a Ditto, it will never be a Ditto. Don’t worry, you don’t shine.
Finding a shiny Ditto is just the luck of the draw. Every Ditto you find and catch has a chance to be shiny and the shiny rates are higher than usual. Expert research group The Silph Road says it’s about a one in 64 chance of being shiny. You just have to be lucky if you find disguised Pokémon.
Shiny Ditto was initially made available to players via a paid Special Research Task set for the Kanto Tour in 2021, but is now just a regular encounter.
