A man has sparked backlash after telling husbands to stop watching their wives give birth because it “ruins sex”.
Los Angeles-based podcast host Elijah Schaffer revealed the unfiltered opinion on unknownwhere he stated that men “watching a baby come out of their wives” during childbirth caused “more harm than good” to the couple’s sex life.
The influencer, who presents the culture and comedy pod’slightly offensive‘Perhaps he could be speaking from experience, after informing his fans about instagram last year that he and his partner Kez welcomed a “happy and healthy” first child.
While many attacked Elijah, claiming that he is “not cut out for fatherhood” and calling him “weak,” some sided with that belief due to “willful ignorance.”
Referring to a viral image of a man visibly shocked as he watches the birth, he said: “Unpopular opinion: I don’t think men should see the baby come out of their wife like this.”

The Los Angeles native took to X to say that men who saw “a baby come out of their wives” during childbirth caused “more harm than good.”
‘It can totally ruin sex life and badly change the dynamics of seduction, etc., between spouses. I’ve seen more harm than good from this. We need stricter gender divisions. Stop doing this.’
In the photo, an unnamed woman lay in what appeared to be a hospital bed with her legs spread in the air, apparently after giving birth.
As the woman lay there looking distraught, perhaps from the stress of childbirth, a medical professional grabbed a newborn baby with both hands.
Meanwhile, a man, presumably her partner, could be seen standing next to the bed with a look of horror.
The post sparked a variety of responses as people debated whether Elijah’s opinion was right or wrong.
‘Hey? Watching your child be born is not traumatizing, it is amazing.
“I’ve played ball with three kids and it hasn’t changed anything except increasing my love for my wife, who made an incredible sacrifice to bring our kids into the world,” one person wrote.
Also disagreeing, someone else explained: “I don’t know, man, if you can’t see your child being born, then maybe you’re not cut out for fatherhood.” (I) saw my little one come out and it was something cool and interesting.
