‘Please keep your dreams alive’: Ke Huy Quan cries during Oscar acceptance speech

A visibly stunned Ke Huy Quan took the stage at the Dolby Theater to accept his supporting actor award for his role in “Everything Everywhere All At Once.”

Read his full speech below.

They say that stories like this only happen in the movies. I can’t believe this is happening to me. This is the American dream.

Many thanks to the Academy for this once-in-a-lifetime honor. Thanks to my mom for the sacrifices she made to bring me here. Thanks to my brother David, who calls me every day just to remind me to take good care of me. I love you brother… I owe it all to the love of my life, my wife Echo, who told me month after month, year after year for 20 years that one day my time would come.

Dreams are something you have to believe in. I almost gave up on mine. To all of you: please keep your dreams alive.
