The upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro will feature a “huge” jump in console power, experts say.

The upgraded console will arrive later this year, but alleged elements of its makeup are already being shared online.

Sony’s new unit is expected to arrive just in time for one of the biggest game releases of the coming years: Grand Theft Auto 6 promised for 2025.

Internal games revealed a series of headlines for the PS5 Pro, the main one being to “render 45 percent faster than PS5” thanks to an updated graphics processing unit (GPU).

The leak also mentions 8K resolutions and artificial intelligence.

The next PlayStation 5 Pro will represent a leap in the power of the console according to experts after the leak of the specifications details.

The updated console is expected to arrive in late 2024, just in time for the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6 in 2025.

The main reason for gamers’ excitement is a vastly improved graphics processing unit (GPU).

As for the CPU (central processing unit), it remains unchanged from the original PS5, but a completely new ‘high frequency’ mode will allow the CPU to have more power, at the expense of one GPU performance. lower percent.

On the other hand, this mode will increase the CPU power by 10 percent.

Hard drive storage will also increase. The PS5 Pro is said to have a one-terabyte hard drive, up from 825 gigabytes on the original PS5.

To further improve the graphics, ray tracing, used in modern games to deliver high-quality visuals, is said to be getting a big boost of two to four times that of the base PS5 model.

And the overall GPU power is said to be 33.5 teraflops of power, more than triple the original 2020 machine, offering 8K resolution.

One notable specification mentions “custom machine learning architecture.”

Sony has been contacted for comment on the ‘leak’.

Rob Dwiar, from TechnologyRadarsaid of the GPU improvements: “This is a huge leap and represents something we could see generation after generation rather than something incremental, as we saw with the last-gen PS4 Pro.”

It comes just weeks after Sony declared that the current PS5 console is entering “the last stage of its life cycle.”

Senior Vice President Naomi Matsuoka said the company expects the PS5’s sales pace to begin falling starting next month after dominating the console wars since its launch, selling more than 50 million units in that time.

She said: “Looking ahead, the PS5 will enter the final stage of its lifecycle.

‘Therefore, we will put more emphasis on the balance between profitability and sales.

“For this reason, we expect the pace of annual PS5 hardware sales to begin to decline from the next fiscal year.”

Last October, Sony introduced a new slimmed down and simplified version of the console, featuring a smaller, lighter form factor, as well as a detachable disk drive and an additional terabyte of memory for storage.

Experts suggest that the PS6 will be released in November 2027 if the console’s recent release patterns hold.
