Modern Warfare 2’s UI doesn’t necessarily correspond to gold status.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2’s user interface is… unpopular with gamers, let’s put it that way. It’s complicated, confusing, and some functions are so well hidden that it’s almost as if they were on purpose.
A menu is currently causing excitement that some CoD fans still didn’t know even after hundreds of hours of play – although it is quite useful!
The Challenge tab is damn hard to find
This menu is about: Modern Warfare 2 offers you one Overview of the in-game challengeswith which you can unlock new weapons or new operators. Check out this Reddit discussion for a screenshot:

What exactly is shown here? Here you can see how far you are on certain unlock challenges. Like how many headshots you still need to land for a specific calling card or new operator.
How do I get into the challenge menu? You go to the in-game lobby, then click on the three lines next to your player level in the top right corner. This is where the Challenges tab is hidden. On consoles, use the Options button to access the menu.
In the comments most are surprised that this tab exists – and how well hidden it is that it can be overlooked even after dozens or even hundreds of hours of play. Some have already discovered it, but apparently almost always by accident. We can also confirm this anecdotally: even our CoD expert and tester Phil hadn’t found the challenge menu yet.
Many don’t understand why the challenges aren’t a separate tab that can be clicked directly from the main menu. Reddit user CaptainPRICE writes:
They really should have a “Challenges” tab in the main menu where we can see all the challenges of the season, weapons, etc.
Mini-poll in the comments: did you know about this challenges menu? If so, did you just stumble upon it by accident or are you one of the few people who can find their way around Modern Warfare 2’s user interface? Do you wish for changes to the UI in the next CoD or do you think the excitement is overdone?
