Airports are a world of possibilities: the start of vacations, the reunion of loved ones, but also extreme expressions of ill-mannered behavior.

One airline passenger was shocked to see someone completing their personal grooming by clipping their toenails in the lounge while waiting for their flight.

The act was captured in a post on Reddit, in which the gentleman in question was shown with his slides on the floor as he rested his foot on the airport seats to clip his nails.

“Brightened my eyes,” the Reddit user stated.

Users were both shocked and amused by the photo and shared their thoughts online.

“I want to be honest: when he puts his feet in the area in front of him, he wants them to look good.” one user joked.

“My unfiltered mouth would have said in a raised voice, “THAT’S SO BIG, DUDE!” but then I would regret it being so loud,” one flyer said.

‘I once saw someone do that on an airplane. I almost opened the emergency door and pushed them out, but I wanted to get to my destination safely,” another shared.

“There must be something wrong with your head to think it’s acceptable to cut your disgusting nails in public and leave your clippings behind,” someone else lamented.

Another stated: ‘As a society we need to reduce public shaming.’

Previously, Diane Gottsman, an etiquette expert and owner of The Protocol School of Texas, told Dailymail.com that practicing personal hygiene in public should be avoided.

“It’s unpleasant when someone next to you is brushing their hair and the hair flies into someone else’s public space,” she said.

Grooming in the air is a hot topic, with a passenger sparking a heated debate earlier this week after brushing her hair in first class.

A woman shared a video of herself brushing her hair in business class and showed another passenger in the background giving her dirty looks.

“I’m sitting in business class minding my business while Auntie is giving me nasty looks,” she captioned the post.

In the video, the woman is seen brushing her hair, tying it back and getting comfortable in her spacious first class seat.

The act was then captured in a post on Reddit, which showed the gentleman in question with his slides on the floor while clipping his nails on the plastic seats at the airport.

As she brushed her hair for the video, another woman was seen looking at her in shock and disgust.

The original creator turned off the comments on her post, but an Instagram account reposted the video with the caption, “I just want to brush my hair in peace.”

The altercation sparked a swift response from the internet, with many chiming in in the comments as to whether it was appropriate behavior or not.

Elaine Swann, the founder of Swann School of Protocol and a former flight attendant, told The Washington Post that passengers should be aware of their space on a plane.

“I think people forget that they are still in a public setting,” she said. “We’re on the plane and it’s small. It feels very much like this is our own space. It’s not on the road, walking in the mall or whatever, but an airplane is still a public environment.”
