Some Pixel 6 users are reporting strange issues after updating their devices to the new Android 14 operating system, which was released on October 4 for Pixel devices. A bug that seems critical and seems to have spread to several users is lose access to internal storage, which ends in total data loss. Others seem to have other strange problems, such as repeated UI launcher crashes. TO Edge The tipster pointed to the reports, which show a pattern of striking users with multiple user accounts set up on their devices.
The original poster reports “storage full” errors once they rebooted following an overnight update to Android 14, while another commenter said they completely lost access to the internal storage. The Android 14 update was officially released last week alongside Google’s new Pixel 8 devices with UI updates, additional customization options, and more.
I personally tried to reproduce the issue on my Pixel 6A by setting up a new account and trying to run software updates. While I had no storage issues, my 6A crashed several times. I also got the “System UI is not responding” error. But if I go back to the other account, the problems no longer appear. I should mention that I’m on Android 14 beta and haven’t had any other issues since trying this.
