Pimpama accident: Teenager fights for his life and woman suffers spinal injuries after collision on Gold Coast

A teenager has had to fight for his life while a woman has suffered suspected spinal injuries following an accident on the Gold Coast.

A Holden Commodore carrying five people went onto a roundabout and crashed into a retaining wall on William Boulevard in Pimpama shortly before 1am on Sunday.

A 19-year-old Queensland man suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital.

A 20-year-old woman from Western Australia was taken to the same hospital with suspected spinal injuries.

The 18-year-old driver was taken to hospital for assessment and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Paramedics evaluated an 18-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man at the scene.
