Piers Morgan has claimed that Princess Diana would have been ‘shocked’ by the rift between Prince Harry and Prince William, which he says has deepened considerably after the March 7 interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Morgan, the Editor-at-Large of DailyMail.com, spoke to Tucker Carlson on Monday about the bombshell interview – which ultimately caused him to lose his job.

The journalist and television host left Good Morning Britain on March 9 after saying he didn’t believe Meghan Markle’s version of the events and was called racist for saying so.

Morgan said one of the saddest things about the interview was the damage it caused to the sibling bond.

“I knew Princess Diana well and I think she would be shocked by the split between Harry and his brother,” Morgan said.

He said he believed Diana would be shocked “by the schism that now exists between Harry and the royal family in general; through the Queen’s hideous smear, already wreaking havoc in some of the Commonwealth countries that bought this outrageous lie that the Queen is somehow racist and presides over a racist institution. ‘

Asked by Winfrey how he would characterize his relationship with William, 38, the 36-year-old prince replied, “Space.”

The pair spoke by phone after the interview, but Gayle King on CBS revealed the conversation was “ unproductive. ”

William would be furious that Harry had discussed their private conversation with a reporter and told those around him that he can no longer trust his brother.

He would be desperate to give his side of the story, but, limited by his role and not wanting to further upset his grandmother and father, he is unable to do so.

William is said to be especially upset about Meghan’s airing of a pre-marriage feud with his wife, Kate Middleton, which ended with Meghan in tears.

Morgan said Harry was a “brat” for using the primetime interview to publicly complain about his family and finances.

He said, ‘What happened to that guy? He’s turned into a whiny brat.

He’s in his mid-thirties and complains that his father still doesn’t finance everything he does. Complaining that he was cut off by Dad and his millions.

Actually, that wasn’t true either – it turns out Prince Charles had continued to fund him.

“And don’t forget, Harry inherited millions when his mother died.”
