Piers Morgan is reunited with Good Morning Britain co-host Susannah Reid

Date:

Piers Morgan reunited with his former Good Morning Britain co-star Susannah Reid on Wednesday as they headed out to breakfast together.

The 57-year-old broadcaster took to Twitter to share an adorable snap from their morning outing where the former pals reunited for the first time in “a while”.

Pierce hosted GMB alongside Susanna, 52, until his passing in 2021, and since then, Susanna has continued to helm the show alongside a select group of male hosts.

Reunited with his former co-host, Pierce cut a smart figure in a black T-shirt and styled his silver locks in a slicked-back style as they enjoyed a coffee together at a café.

Meanwhile, Susanna cut an elegant figure in a pink dress as she met up with Pearce after a busy morning presenting an ITV chat show alongside Martin Lewis.

She styled her lustrous brunette locks in glamorous waves, and opted for a high-glam makeup palette to complete her ensemble.

In a caption alongside the post, Pearce quipped that it had been a while since they last had breakfast together referring to his former chat show hosting job.

He wrote: “Good morning Britain! It’s been a while since we last had breakfast together… Nice to see you @susannareid100.”

Since Piers Morgan left GMB in 2021, Susannah has continued to host the show alongside a rotation of male hosts.

Regulars included Richard Madeley, Ed Balls, Ben Sheppard, Kate Garraway, Adil Ray and Robert Rindger.

Pierce previously revealed that he’s quitting GMB after refusing to apologize for Meghan Markle’s “disbelieving” allegations during her interview with Oprah Winfrey alongside Prince Harry.

It was revealed last week that financial journalist Martin, 50, will be joining the weekday breakfast show as a permanent presenter.

The consumer hero hosted his first show with Susannah on Wednesday after it was revealed he would become a regular co-host.

Martin would continue to join the weekday breakfast show on various Wednesdays throughout the year.

Speaking about his appointment, Martin said: ‘Having the ability to hold politicians accountable for the cost of living is both a privilege and a responsibility.

It’s a slight change of gear from my usual work, but after years of answering complex questions, it’s nice to ask them all at once. So I was delighted when ITV offered me the regular presenter role.

The difficulty came with working around my day job, as a money-saving expert, which is always my priority.

So I’m hoping that the solution we’ve come up with, doing a dozen specials a year, along with Susannah Reid’s fantastic journalism, will be one that viewers of the show will welcome.

Susanna said: “Martin Lewis is without a doubt the voice of the nation when it comes to the cost of living crisis. Together, we will continue to challenge politicians and hold them accountable.

“I can’t wait for him to sit next to me again in the GMB desk from next week,” added the longtime GMB host.

The announcement came after GMB received another BAFTA nomination for Best News Coverage at the 2023 BAFTA Television Awards, with Martin Lewis Money Show Live also nominated in the Best Features category.

Martin is the founder of the financial advice website MoneySavingExpert.com and also hosts the Martin Lewis Money Show Live on ITV.

His show sees him counseling members of the public on topics such as the cost-of-living crisis and rising household bills.

He won the Expert Award for his broadcast work at the National Television Awards in October.

Before becoming a regular host of GMB, Lewis appeared on the show to give advice and previously appeared on Martin’s Money Monday, which he saw airing every Monday in September last year to give viewers the latest information on the cost-of-living crisis.
