Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang burst out laughing with the suggestion that Tottenham is better on Sunday than their arch rivals for the North London derby.
Gunners top scorer Aubameyang couldn’t contain his joy at a fan’s suggestion that Arsenal’s neighbors could be the superior side on their way to their last meeting at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Asked by Sky Sports if it was true or false that Spurs are better than Arsenal, Aubameyang initially seemed confused by the question.
The 2018/19 Golden Boot winner then chuckled, ‘Do you mean that? Are they better than us? ‘
When told that the question had actually been submitted, Aubameyang grinned that it was not true and added, “Come on.”
Arsenal will go eighth to Sunday’s showdown in the Premier League table, two places and one point ahead of Tottenham, who have the same goal difference as Mikel Arteta’s squad.
Spurs are unbeaten in their last five home games against Arsenal, but will be wary of Aubameyang, whose 20 league goals this season mean he’s only been surpassed by Leicester’s Jamie Vardy.
Aubameyang pulled Arsenal level with their second and won a 2-2 draw with Spurs in September
