The woman reportedly drowned over the weekend in a pool at the Texas home of former Los Angeles Dodgers baseball star Carl Crawford has been identified.
25-year-old Bethany Lartigue was identified as the woman who died after jumping into a pool when a five-year-old boy reportedly fell under her hat and had difficulty breathing at Crawford’s Houston home on Saturday.
She jumped in to save the child, but both tragically drowned.
Crawford, who has retired from Major League Baseball and now owns a record label, hosted a six-person meeting on Saturday afternoon when the incident occurred.

Crawford and paramedics tried unsuccessfully to revive the victims, according to reports.
Rapper Erica Banks, who is signed to Crawford’s 1501 Certified Entertainment label, shared a heartbroken Instagram post on Saturday identifying Lartigue as her apparent girlfriend.
“I can’t believe this man who promised you you’d never leave my side, we said we would die together. you made me love myself more, you always told me i was your favorite person, and you made my life 10 times more fun even if it just went out into the street to eat. ppl always say they loved our chemist. you were the only person i wanted. we were so happy. thank you so much for coming into my life and making me your special girl. forever my love, “she said.
She shared a similar tribute on Twitter saying, ‘I lost my baby today man, you meant the world to me, we did everything together, I love you Bethany, can’t wait to meet you heaven tink’.
Banks reportedly shared Instagram stories on Friday night with Crawford and friends.

The boy was in the backyard pool (photo under construction) when he had breathing problems, police said. Then the woman jumped into the pool to try to save him.

The drowning took place around 2:30 PM at the Houston house in Crawford’s house.
The relationship between Lartigue and the five-year-old is not clear, however TMZ reports that the child was under her care all day.
Both Lartigue and the boy did not respond and were accidentally taken to the ambulance where they died I LOVE. The local station captured footage of Crawford speaking to the police who flocked to his home after the accident.
In response to the incident, Houston police said a 25-year-old woman and a five-year-old were involved in the drowning, but no names were released.
The Crawford meeting was consistent with Houston’s home visit, allowing fewer than ten people to meet.
Crawford last played for the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2013 to 2016 before being released from the team.
After retiring, he started 1501 Certified Entertainment, which initially signed rapper Megan Thee Stallion, who she later sued to withdraw from her contract in March.
